Thank you for reporting the spam email. Out of an abundance of caution, we have revoked your connected login sessions and reset your password.
We strongly recommend that all students use the Microsoft Authenticator app for MFA, as it provides a higher level of security compared to SMS (text).
Starting January 2, 2025, the system will begin prompting all students daily to use the MS Authenticator app. This recommendation is based on our professional assessment and is not a mandatory requirement, but we highly encourage everyone to adopt it.
Some important information about the MS Authenticator app:
- The MS Authenticator app is more secure than SMS (texting).
- The app uses about 200MB of storage space and typically needs less than 2KB per authentication. If you are on Wi-Fi, it requires no cellular data at all.
- MFA is not a new thing; it is used in many facets of our lives already. Many of us use our smart phone apps for a variety of things, such as:
- Personal banking (and MFA for it)
- Credit card apps (and MFA for it)
- MFA for government sites
- Checking email (both personal and work)
- Getting QCC inclement weather alerts
- And so on…
MS Authenticator can make the MFA process quicker and easier
